The human rights organisation (IHD), the Association for Human Rights (Eren Keskin), the Human Rights Association Turkey, UNICEF, the OECD, the European Union, the Swiss section of the International Campaign Against Land Mines and the German Medico International are soon to begin a campaign for a mine-free Turkey.

The campaign intends to put pressure on the Turkish state to permit the professional clearance of mines on the borders to Iraq, Iran and Syria. Connected with the campaign are plans for the resettlement of destroyed Kurdish villages. The campaign will be opened soon at a large international conference in Istanbul.
